Our top priority at Digital Dirt is to provide high quality services at an affordable price. We are one of very few firms in the Midwest that specialize in machine control services. Our experience gives us the ability to exceed our clients’ expectations from the bid process through project completion and beyond.
3D models are one of the most important elements to making an AMG project run smoothly. We make every effort to review plans for errors and constructability as we build our models. With most projects, we will work directly with project managers and designers to resolve any issues we find. This process reduces down time on the construction site as most errors are fixed before grading even begins.
Digital Dirt has a great depth of experience building 3D models. Some of the types of models include:
There is no cookie-cutter takeoff.
We know that there is no "cookie-cutter" takeoff. We work with our clients to ensure that we provide an accurate report on the quantities that are needed without excessive information. By taking the time to understand what a contractor is bidding, we can provide our report quicker and reduce expenses for our client in the process.
Need help getting the site calibration completed? We are available to help machine control users with site calibrations and project setup.
Support is available when you need it most!
Our staff has worked with Topcon, Trimble and Leica GPS equipment. We are available by phone or site visit to help our clients’ field crews load files, process survey data, and answer basic troubleshooting questions. If we can’t answer your question, we will get the answer!
Models can’t be that hard, right? You’re right, it’s easy to import a CAD file and export it in your desired file format. But it takes time to verify all the design aspects that are associated with a job. We can teach you what to look for when building a model, what file formats are the most useful from designers, and what file formats you will need to export to load into your equipment. If you are a Business Center - HCE user, we can teach you how to build road and site models and complete quantity takeoffs. From the simplest building site to a major interchange, we’ve done them all!
We want machine control users to understand what their equipment is doing for them. Our background in construction staking paired with our knowledge of GPS gives us a unique advantage. We are able to explain the technology in construction terms to laborers and operators. It is important to understand the basics of GPS to avoid major grading mishaps caused by lack of knowledge. Secondly, the equipment has functionality that is rarely used by contractors that could greatly improve grading processes if implemented properly. Our goal is to help our clients make the most of their investment by using the equipment correctly and in the most efficient manner.
